Ludwig's is Gone but Midtown Fall Fest Lives

Ludwig's is gone but the fall festival that the German restaurant was a huge part of continues. The Midtown Village Fall Festival takes over the area east of Broad Street this weekend. In the past the Ludwig's Garten Oktoberfest covered Samson Street between Juniper and 13th. The street was shut down filled with tents, long tables, German food, beer and music. In it's years of existence it expanded to incorporate other restaurants and businesses. This is the first year I will attend since the closing of Ludwig's. Time restaurant in partnership with Vintage are creating a beer and wine garden at this year's festival. Brats, sauerkraut, 60+ wines by the glass and German beers on tap are all promised. Neighboring bars and restaurants are also contributing. Fergie's, McGillan's Olde Ale House and Lolita are just a few of the establishments that will have outside activities, music, food vendors and of course more beer and drinks. Don't think that it's all about the imbibe. Kids are welcome to this party and will enjoy games, face painting and magic shows. The fun begins Saturday at noon and continues until 8PM.
