On this day after our big late winter smack down the thought of beer runs rampant through my mind. We are only a few days away from the start of Philly Beer Week and I am still coming to grips with the fact that I can't get to every event I want to attend. With the sheer number of activities nobody can. I've been marking the calender and clinching my fist every time I put a huge star next to a must attend event only to find another activity happening at the same time. With that said I certainly wouldn't want fewer events. Having the opportunity to choose from hundreds of amazing gatherings over the 10 day period is what makes it all so great.
The big change for me this year will be a wider focus on the burbs. Sure I'll trek into the city, but the beauty of the situation is there are some great listings for places in the land of 24 hour supermarkets and cookie cutter restaurants. So in my better late than never countdown to the best beer week ever I'll post some of the stirrings in the burbs along with unique events around the city.
There is no place better to start than close to home, very close: Capone's in Norristown and Brother Paul's in Eagleville. Anyone who reads this blog with any regularity knows Capone's is always on my beer trail. On the other hand I am looking to get a bit more familiar with Brother Paul's in the upcoming week.
