This year the Jenkintown Jazz and Brew Fest has the added bonus of breakfast with über author on beer (whiskey too) Lew Bryson. Don't worry getting up Sunday at the crack of dawn for nourishment isn't necessary. Both times will allow you to sleep off some of what did you in last night. Seating #1 is @ 11:00 AM and #2 is @ 12:00 pm at the West Avenue Grille. Afterwards take in the tunes and get a few more pours of the hair of the dog that bit ya. The Brew Fest starts at 1:00.
Tickets for Breakfast and Brew are $25 and will be available at the West Avenue Grille on Sunday morning. BrewFest-only admission is $30 payable at the gate. This low entry fee gets you admittance to the BrewFest, a sporty wristband, a commemorative sampling cup, and all the samples you care to enjoy during the time taps are open. Designated Driver tickets (full access but NO sampling) are only $10. Sorry, no refunds.

I am a Jenkintown resident and attend this event every year. Here's my review:
First off, I did not attend the Lew Bryson breakfast talk. Neat idea but felt the $25 cost wasn't really worth it for me.
The fest itself is a small charity event, but in the past usually has a dozen brewers showing up, plus a distributor with samples of another 25-30 beers. In the past they've also had a TV out there so you can watch football. Not nearly as big as the Shipyard fest, Sipping By the River, or even the upcoming Newtown Beer Fest (October 17th), but decent value for the money. I would usually find several things that I hadn't tried before and it was always a good time with the beer, and the football, and the jazz music in the background.
This year, it was a little disappointing. There were more like 6-7 breweries there (Manayunk, Riverhorse, General Lafayette, Hometown Brewery, Magic Hat, & Philadelphia Brewing). The distributor was there offering a selction of Rogue, Dundee, Michelob, Steigmaier, Hook & Ladder, etc..
Also, they moved the location slightly so it was a street over from the jazz music, which you couldn't really hear. And no TVs so missed the lastest news on my fantasy football teams! (-:
Not sure if it had to do with the economy, or just bad planning but was dissapointed that more breweries didn't show up, and that the selection was relatively mediocre. I still had an okay time, but it has been a lot better in past years. And hell, I can't complain much because it's relatively cheap and walking distance from my house.
My best in shows were:
Riverhorse... Their double wit, and hop hazard IPAs are both quite tasty.
Hometown Brewery.. I wasn't expecting much. They seem to be a little gimicky (for those who don't know, they make a Pennsylvania Lager, and a New York Lager, and a New Jersey Light Lager), but found their NY Dark Lager was well made and refreshing.
Philadelphia Brewing Co... I'm really digging their stuff. The Wit, and Joe Porter are both decent. Good stuff coming out of PBC.
