In the world of reality TV fancy cupcakes, bazaar foods, competing chefs, eating challenges and gut busting meals at funky corner dives rule. Beer? Not so much. Nationally it seems that people aren't interested in watching shows on the liquid subject. Even the marketing brewing genius of Sam Calagione couldn't take Brew Masters beyond one season (6 episodes). Well don't give up hope beer people cable seems to be getting it's brew balls back. Main Gate Productions is putting together The Next Great American Brewer. The show is reality competition series with pro and amateur brewers facing off.
"The best amateur and professional craft brewers across the United States are brought together to compete against each other in challenges related to brewing beer and running a successful brewing company. The winner of the competition will have their beer brewed, bottled and distributed to beer drinkers across the country!"
Hopefully this show finds a home, begins it's run and has enough of a following that it doesn't disappear as soon as it arrives. After all there are only so many times I can watch ancient episodes of Beer Nutz .
